Getting Around Oahu > Oahu Car Hire

Oahu is 44mi (71km) long and 30mi (48km) wide, it’s an easy island to navigate with three major highways (H1, H2, H3) and well-maintained roads. Hiring a car is a great way to explore Oahu, you can pick up a car at Honolulu Airport or rent one in Waikiki. With year-round warm weather, popular modes of transport include convertibles and Jeeps.

Parking in Waikiki is expensive at both hotels and resorts and local parking lots. Expect parking rates to run between $30-40 per vehicle per night. Many visitors choose to hire vehicles for one or two days only to take day trips around the island, rather than have a rental car on hand for their entire stay. Our Waikiki Properties come with free parking!

For temporary parking in Waikiki, major shopping venues including the Royal Hawaiian Center and the International Market Place have large parking structures. Hourly parking at these centers are usually reasonably priced and can often be validated after onsite purchases are made or when dining on property. There is also per hour parking located at Honolulu Zoo and Fort De Russy.

Our Free Waikiki Map outlines the parking rates charged at Waikiki hotels.
