As an Aussie expat living in Honolulu, there are moments when I crave my home-country cuisine. These cravings led me to search high and low for the best Aussie and Kiwi foods on Oʻahu.

Thankfully, I found Oʻahu eateries with Australian and New Zealand connections. These places satiate my homesickness and the curiosity of those eager to taste the flavors of Down Under.

In this post, we share our local recommendations for the best Aussie and Kiwi foods on Oʻahu.

1. Arvo Café at Surfjack

Feel the Aussie vibes in Waikīkī with their delicious flat whites and toasties.

The name of this cute cafe, Arvo (Aussie slang for afternoon) gives away it’s origin. One of it’s previous owners hailed from Down Under so they know how to make an excellent flat white and delicious ham, cheese and tomato toasties. Find it at the entry to the Surfjack Hotel & Swim Club on Lewers Street in Waikīkī.

INSIDE TIP: The original Arvo Cafe is in Kakaʻako. It offers other Aussie favorites like avocado toast and a halloumi burger.

2. Tucker & Bevvy

Serves up Aussie-style picnic food and snacks, a great option for brekkie.

3. Kiwi Style Fish & Chips

Hit up this food truck at Hukilau Marketplace (outside Polynesian Cultural Center) for tasty homemade pies made with puff pastry and delicious fillings like steak and onion, steak and cheese, mince (ground beef) and cheese and chicken curry.
