In this post, we share our local recommendations for the best pizza in Honolulu.

Pizza Mamo delivers the best of both worlds to Downtown Honolulu, serving up Detroit-style pan pizza and Brooklyn-style Neapolitan pies made with organic flour and Wisconsin-made cheeses.
We’re hooked on their Detroit-style deep-dish Pepperoni Pizza (featured image), baked in Motor City pans for caramelized cheese edges. It’s so good, we’ll drive Downtown just to grab one!
We also love their Brooklyn-style 16” (41cm) Potato Pizza — a comforting combination of mozzarella, pecorino, thinly-sliced potatoes, white cheddar, garlic oil and cracked pepper.

Family-owned ‘Ili‘ili Cash & Carry doubles as a deli selling cold cuts, cheeses and more, so it’s no surprise their pizza, and its ingredients, are top-quality and authentically sourced.
They offer 18” (46cm) rounds, Sicilian squares, pizza by the slice and build your own options, plus wine to-go. Their Caesar, topped with boquerones (anchovies), makes for a fresh side.
Keliʻi’s favorite is their Cheese Pizza, just tomato, mozzarella and parmesan. I’m all about the ʻIliʻili Supreme, where the pepperoni and sausage bring bold flavors. Good thing they let you split a pie.
INSIDE TIP: Treat yourself at ʻIliʻili Cash & Carry — add a side of Choke Garlic Balls. These greasy, garlicky bites are downright addictive and totally more-ish!
3. Kaimuki’s Boston’s Pizza

After hearing the hype, Boston’s Pizza was one of the first pizza I tried in Honolulu, and they didn’t disappoint — serving up big 19” (48cm), 3lb (1.3kg) pies in Boston tradition.
Choose from seven classics, thirteen specialty combos or create your own. Their dough is made daily, their ingredients are fresh and it’s one of the few spots offering a ranch sauce for dipping.
Their Boston Special is one of the tastiest pizzas you’ll ever try — loaded with pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms and green bell pepper, with raw white onion tying it all together.
4. Appetito Craft Pizza & Wine Bar
Waikīkī’s premier destination for artisan Neapolitan-style craft pizza.

You can’t go wrong with the Margherita Pizza, made with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, Grana Padano cheese and fresh basil — closely followed by the Shrimp Pesto Pizza.
This is one of our most frequented dinner spots in Waikīkī. While we come for the pizza, the pasta is just as good! Pair it all with sangria or a limoncello lemon drop for the full Italian experience.
INSIDE TIP: Dine during Happy Hour (daily from 3-6pm) for discounts on select pizzas — save $5 on the Margherita, $6 on the Boquerones and $8 on the Italian Salami.

They offer pizza in four convenient sizes, from 4 to 12 slices, with their special touch — a three-cheese blend of 80% whole milk mozzarella, 10% aged cheddar and 10% provolone.
With 14 pizza types, most are meat-forward, loaded with kalua pig, roast chicken, or Italian and Portuguese sausage. That said, we prefer the Gourmet Veggie with creamy garlic sauce!

Each pizza features a scratch-made crust using 100% organic Tipo 00 flour and highlights local ingredients like Big Island Hamakua mushrooms, goat cheese and Kamuela tomatoes.
Their Kalua Pork & Pineapple is a must-try with kalua pork, mac nut pesto, roasted pineapple, green onion and jalapeño. But really, all six pizzas are great — and the ocean view seals the deal.

Home to Waikīkī’s largest pizzas, their massive 21” (53cm) pies are sliced into sixths — perfect for refueling, especially after a surf. Pick from six crowd-pleasers, a daily special or build your own.
They take pride in using ingredients free from pesticides and chemicals, along with house-made dough crafted from premium wheat. Pair your pizza with mozzarella sticks, fries, or wings.
INSIDE TIP: Slice of Waikīkī relocated from its takeout window at the Waikiki Malia on Kūhiō Avenue to a walk-in spot on Seaside Avenue next to Ross. Just a short stroll from the original location, it now has a few tables but still focuses on grab-and-go.
