There are several options for grocery stores in Waikīkī, all within walking distance of the major hotels and resorts. Our favorites are Waikīkī Market and Mitsuwa Marketplace.

1. Waikiki Market

Waikīkī Market opened in early 2023 in the old Food Pantry space, find it on the second floor of the new Līlia Waikīkī building. When it comes to supermarkets, Waikīkī Market is the only traditional grocery store in Waikīkī. It offers a variety of grocery, meat, seafood, bakery, deli and produce items including a great selection of locally-grown and locally-made products. A curated selection of wine, beer and spirits, as well as specialty food items, exclusive gifts, flowers and lei are also featured. In addition, find prepared food stations in the store (Poke, Rice, Local Plates and Bake Shop) and two on-site restaurants, Piko Kitchen + Bar and ʻOlili Waikīkī. Piko is a a local-style hangout serving Hawaiʻi-style comfort food and ʻOlili features modern interpretations of the “mixed-plate”.

2. Mitsuwa Marketplace

Mitsuwa Marketplace is a treasure-trove of grocery goods, existing almost in secret, on Level 2 of the International Market Place. It’s the largest Japanese supermarket chain in the United States. It is a sushi and bento wonderland, Japanese grocery, confectionery, and cosmetic utopia. There’s everything you need to whip up a meal from fresh-cut fruits and garden vegetables to a fridge stocked with high-quality tofu and meats.

3. ABC Stores

ABC Stores are locally-owned general stores conveniently located for visitors with merchandise sold at fair prices. There are 30+ stores in Waikīkī alone and they are jam-packed with everything you might need to pick up during your stay. No matter where you stay, there will always be an ABC Store close by.

4. Duke’s Lane Market & Eatery

Duke’s Lane Market & Eatery is stocked with gourmet foods, made in Hawaiʻi items, quality produce, and fresh bread made by their in-house bakery Soleil Hawaii. There’s also an awesome wine vault inside with local and international wines and craft beers, and on-site eateries including Basalt, Spitfire Rotisserie & Flatbread, Il Gelato Hawaii, Island Gourmet Coffee and Teapresso Bar.

5. Food Pantry Eaton Square

Food Pantry Eaton Square is a small supermarket outlet on the west side of Waikīkī. Perfect for grabbing a quick bite or filling up your cupboard.

6. Island Country Markets

Island Country Markets at The Ritz Carlton Residences has just about everything you need. This is a spacious convenience store on Kūhiō Avenue, right by the hotel, filled with immaculately-stacked shelves, fridges, and displays. There’s a coffee bar, produce section, groceries and alcohol, island-inspired gifts and apparel. The in-house deli is sensational, it serves freshly prepared meals including all-day breakfast, market-fresh poke bowls, toasted sandwiches, and a range of hot local dishes including delicious garlic butter shrimp.

7. Longs Drugs Waikīkī

Longs Drugs Waikīkī is a 24-hour pharmacy (chemist) but it also doubles as a convenience store. Find grab-and-go items on the ground floor and household goods, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, and more at the top of the escalator. There’s also a MinuteClinic walk-in medical service.

8. Waikīkī Old Country Market

Waikīkī Old Country Market is small mini-mart on Liliʻuokalani Avenue in Waikīkī, it’s handy for basic food and beverage essentials if you’re staying in the surrounding area.
